Sweet Apple Crisp With Whiskey Caramel Sauce

This is my favorite Apple Crisp, with a not so normal topping that most people think of. I make this as much as I can, because there’s no wrong way of making it as you will see. I also make this Crisp right before Applefest In Bayfield Wisconsin, In which my apples come from the local orchards in the area. SO if you have extra apples, this is a great treat for the whole family.

INGREDIENTS:

6c           Apples (peeled and sliced in thin wedges) Put in bowl and set aside.

FILLING:

1/2c        Powdered Sugar

1/3c        All-Purpose flour

1/2tsp     Cinnamon

1tsp        Cornstarch

Mix filling together and add to apples

Now mix apples and filling together.

Put in to a pie plate or you can use a little square pan and even the apples out.

 Preheat oven to 375 degree’s.

In separate bowl mix the topping together.

3/4c        All-Purpose flour

1/2c        Brown Sugar (firmly Packed)

1/3c        Butter (melted til cloudy).

Mix well, and sprinkle on apples.

Bake in the 375 degree oven for 45 minutes.

Let cool for an hour before serving and top with” French Vanilla Ice Cream” and top that with our “Whiskey Caramel Caramel Sauce.” Which you can find in our next blog.
