I enjoy Irish Soda Bread so much, I tend to make it for the family quite often and it goes well with soup or stews and its even better with corn beef and cabbage.
To make this bread, you will need.
3&1/2c Flour
1/4c sugar
1tsp Baking Soda
1/2tsp Baking Powder
3/4tsp Salt
2/3c Butter
1&1/2c Buttermilk
Directions:
– In a large mixing bowl add all dry ingredients.
– Add the buttermilk and stir well.
– Taking a cheese grater, grate the butter into the mix.
– Knead bread well and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
– Place bread in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
Grating the butter…what a great idea. I will give this a try!

I hope you give it a try, we have changed it up a bit too. By adding Bacon and cheddar cheese to it. It also goes well with Lingonberries. I would like to hear your thoughts?
