Split Pea Soup

      This was my first time making Split Pea Soup, while Mark has made it numerous times. I wanted something perfect for him and I soon realized that I out did myself this time as it turned out perfect. I didn’t realize how easy of a soup this was. So if you have not made split pea soup and would like to, This is simple.

INGREDIENTS:

1                            Ham Bone

2 stalks                  Celery (sliced)

2                            Carrots (peeled,sliced)

1                            Onion (minced)

2                            Garlic Cloves (minced)

6 c                          Water

2 1/2c                     Dried Split Peas

4                             bouillon (chicken) cubes

2 tsp                      Coriander

DIRECTIONS:

–  Place Ham bone into slow cooker with 6 c of water, add bouillon cubes to water.

– Place slow cooker on high.

– Cut onion, garlic, celery and carrot and add to slow-cooker.

– Add the dried peas, and cook for 1 1/2 hrs.

– Set to low for 3 hrs.

* Serve hot in serving bowls.

* Goes well with Grilled cheese sandwiches.
