3/4c Packed brown sugar
4c fresh or frozen strawberries
2tsp vanilla extract
2tsp baking powder
1/4tsp cream of tartar
*optional strawberry whip cream
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and butter, pour into a greased round cake pan and layer with the strawberries. Set aside
In large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt, and cream of tartar.
Add to creamed mixture, add the milk. mix well.
Spoon over strawberries.
Place cake into 350degree oven for 40-45minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
cool for 15minutes,put a plate on top and turn over and out should come a beautiful up-side down cake. Serve with plain or strawberry whipped cream.
